Eligbility

Thank you for your interest in Trinity Tower. The following information may help to answer some of your questions.

Tenancy at Trinity Tower is open, without restriction, to all interested parties where the Head of Household is age 62 years or older, and the household meets the Income Guidelines and Screening Criteria.

Trinity Tower does not discriminate against applicants or tenants with regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, familial status, disability, marital status, or gender identity. We subscribe and comply with all federal, state, and local fair housing and civil rights laws and with HUD equal opportunity requirements.

A completed rental application is required for placement on the waiting list. Incomplete or illegible applications will be returned and/or not accepted.

Income Guidelines
Income guidelines, as established by HUD, allow that maximum annual income, for an applicant household not exceed the sixty (60%) percent income guidelines established for Erie and Niagara Counties in New York State. Current maximum gross income limits (effective April 18, 2017) are as follows:

Per HUD requirements, these income guidelines are subject to change.

Screening criteria includes:

  • Head of Household must be 62+ years of age or older
  • Applicant’s demonstrated ability to pay rent
  • Rental history review, including eviction history, if any
  • All household members are required to supply a Social Security Number
  • A separate, completed Citizen Declaration and/or evidence of Eligible Immigration Status, if applicable, is required for each household member
  • A review of Annual Income from all sources, including income derived from assets
  • Credit History
  • Criminal and Sex Offender status

Households that cannot meet the income and screening criteria will be considered ineligible.

A preference is granted to Veterans (or surviving spouses) who served on active duty in time of war and reside in New York State, and who meet all other screening criteria.
